Description:
An overview of the harmful impacts of urban growth on our local ecosystems, a critical evaluation of currently used home landscape woody ornamentals, and a brief overview of preferred native plant options that are robust in Middle Tennessee landscapes and those that support a diversity of pollinators.

Bio:
Justin is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and has lived in Tennessee since 1995. He is a two-time graduate from Middle Tennessee State University and has been employed with UT Extension Since 2010. He currently serves as the Horticulture Extension Agent in Rutherford County, where he provides diagnostic support and educational programming to consumer and commercial clientele. He is also the Extension Master Gardener Coordinator for the Master Gardeners of Rutherford County. He is passionate about habitat preservation and restoration and has a special interest in cedar glades. He currently resides in Rockvale, TN, where he has transformed his home landscape from a barren hay pasture, into an ecologically diverse oasis teeming with pollinators, birds, and a plethora of four-legged fury animals.
