Description: Chapter member Ivan Chester will be the speaker for this meeting. Ivan’s topics will include:
- the benefits of converting lawn to native plants
- options for site preparation
- recommendations for native plants that do well in Middle Tennessee in full sun; plants that do well in shade; and, low-growing plants that can handle a little foot traffic.
- the application process for Metro Nashville’s Intentional Design program (of interest to those in Davidson County)
- how to do matrix planting
- ongoing maintenance
Bio: Ivan is an outdoor enthusiast and a strong advocate for native plants and wildlife. He has been the owner of Habitat Landscapes designing and installing native landscapes for six years.
